The inaugural session of the 2022 student parliament of Kelaniya Gurukula Vidyalaya was held on 14/10/2022 in the main hall of the college under the chairmanship of former Election Commissioner General Mahinda Deshapriya.
This parliament program facilitates the acquiring of practical experiences by students or the standards and values of democracy, while at the same time providing opportunities for students to engage in dialogue on social and economic problems, regional as well as national, which they observe and reach agreement on them, suggesting various solutions. The student parliament creates opportunities for students to get together collectively and organize different programmes and implement them and to bring to the attention of the relevant authorities those problems that they are unable to solve.
The student parliament program would create a great opportunity for students as a young student community to confer a sense of value to their pride and honor and whilst creating in themselves the required positive attitudes for building the nation, contribute to the national effort for achievement of same.
