Congratulations to the talented sons of Mother Gurukula!
Formidable Gurukula College, Kelaniya are the firm favourties as they take on Dharmaloka College, with expectations of creating history in the 29th edition of the ‘Battle of Kelaniya’ Big Match which starts at the Keththarama Stadium on 12th September.
Gurukula have made a vast stride into the Premier Division I category and have turned tables on some of the leading cricket playing schools in the Inter School Under-19 tournament this year, while their arch rivals Dharmaloka have struggled to stay alive in the Division II category. Equipped with a strong bowling armoury and a formidable batting line-up, Gurukula take the field with as many as eight outright victories under their belt. The team, captained by Sithija Chamod (50 runs), and Neluka Heshan(64 runs) beat Sri Dharmloka College along with Poorna Kalhara who gained 4 massive wickets.
Gurukula College recorded an outright victory this season with the support of M.I.C Anil Manjula, Coach Mr. Rasitha Dinesh and Mr. Buddhi Prasanna.
